Overall Difficulty Level
Majority of the students (63.7%) who appeared for the exam stated that the exam stood ‘MODERATE’.
About 30.7% of students rated it as difficult while only 5.6% felt that the exam was easy.
Pattern of Questions:
Mostly one-liner with some concept based and few clinical questions.
Image-based questions seemed to rule NEET-PG 2019. There were 20-30 image-based questions, much more than last time.
Most students said that about 120 questions were easy, 100 moderate and 80 difficult.
Some easy questions were very easy and difficult were very difficult, so the moderate difficulty questions might be rank deciders.
Subjects with low weightage:
FMT, ENT, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Anesthesia.
Subjects with high weightage:
Medicine, OBGY, Pharmacology, Surgery, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Anatomy.
How many questions did students attempt?
In our survey:
22.7% students, attempted 290-300 questions
23.5% attempted 280-290 questions
34.8% attempted 250-280 questions
13.6% attempted 200-250 questions
5.3% attempted less than 200 questions
A considerable number of students said that the exam was too lengthy.
A staggering 41.2% of students surveyed felt that it got difficult to finish within 210 minutes.
Difficult questions in the exam were usually framed as:
1. Easy questions with confusing options in most cases.
2. Unheard of the one-liner in some cases.
Other comments about the exam:
- Some students complained of the appearance of watermark during the exam
