What’s Does the Notification State?

 Mr. Amit Biswas, Under Secretary to the Government of India addresses the notification to all the Principal Secretaries of States/UTs.

In the notification, Mr. Amit refers to the discussions held with the States/UT's on November 28th 2016 on the issue of counselling for PG courses.

He states that on the basis of the discussions, it is ascertained that majority of the States/UTs are willing to hold Combined Counseling for all PG Medical/Dental courses at State/UT level including for Private Medical/Dental Colleges and Private/Deemed Universities.

He further added that in consideration of the successful conduct of Combined Counselling for UG courses (Medical & Dental) for the academic session 2016-17, it is considered that it will be appropriate for the State/UT Governments to conduct Combined Counselling through an authority designated for the purpose for admission to all PG Medical/Dental courses in all Medical/Dental colleges in the State/UT's including Private Medical/Dental Colleges and Private/Deemed Universities from the academic year 2017-18.
