According to the latest reports, the news regarding scraping of quota in UP Colleges were fake. We apologize to students for publishing this blog without checking the detailed credibility of the news.
According to director general medical education Dr VN Tripathi "It is wrong to say that rules of reservation have been scrapped from the private medical and dental colleges. Reservation was never a part of the admission process in private sector medical and dental colleges as per the prevalent policy made in 2006. There has been no change in any policy whatsoever,".
Reservation is the most debatable topic in the past few years in educational institutions especially medical institutes and has been criticized as well as supported. It has been speculated that the quality of education is being affected as many deserving students are deprived of the opportunity due to this reservations in medical institutions. Many scholars and intellectuals have an opinion to revoke reservations in India, especially in education sector.
Here is an important news from the UP government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from Bhartiya Janta Party in this regard.
The CM has abolished the quota for SC/ST/OBC category in Uttar Pradesh’s private medical institutions for admissions in post graduate courses which was proposed earlier in 2006 by Mulayam Singh Yadav. Many students across the nation are presenting their views. Some students are supporting this step; on the other hand SC/ST/OBC students are distressed and are protesting against this move.
The reaction from other states and opposition parties are yet to be released which may lead to a transformation in education system of the country.
