NEET MDS is an Eligibility cum qualifying examination which will serve as the sole gateway for admission to Post Graduate MDS courses as per the provisions of the Dentists Act, 1948.
As per the Dentists Act 1948, no other entrance examination either at the State or Institutional level will be applicable for admission to MDS courses.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET MDS 2017
- Applicant must be an Indian National/Overseas Citizen of India
- Applicant must possess BDS degree from a Dental Institution recognized by the Indian Government
- Applicant must possess Provisional/Permanent Registration with the Dental Council of India
- Applicant must have completed One year of Compulsory Rotatory Internship/likely to complete Internship from a recognized Dental Institution on or prior to 31st March 2017.
- Applicants who have secured BDS Degree from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for All India 50% Quota Seats.
- Registration with State Dental Councils is mandatory and its documentary proof has to be provided at the time of Counseling

Registration Procedure for NEET MDS 2017
The Detailed Registration Procedure is highlighted below:
Step I: Visit Official Website
Applicants are required to visit www.nbe.edu.in and click on ‘Register for NEET MDS’ link
Step II: Create a Profile
- Applicants will be then required to create a Profile by entering their personal information such as their Name, E-mail address and other details.
- Applicants will be then required to create a Login by entering valid username, password and other details
- Applicants will also be required to add additional contact information such as Mobile Number, Postal Address, etc.
- Image & Digital Signature Upload:
Applicants will be required to upload their Photo and Digital Signature on their Profile page. Make sure to follow the Instructions carefully while uploading the Picture and Digital Signature.
Step III: Apply for NEET MDS
- After successfully creating their Profile, exam selection screen will be displayed before the applicants.
- In order to register for NEET MDS, you need to select NEET-MDS from the drop down list. Next, click on Save & Continue button.
- Next, applicants will be required to enter their personal details such as Nationality, D.O.B., Category for All India 50% Quota Seats, Category for State Quota Seats, Residential Domicile State.
- Applicants will be required to submit their preference order for taking up Post Graduate Courses from among the options available. Applicants will also be required to submit whether they are willing or unwilling for Short Service Commission in Army Dental Corps.
- Applicants will also be required to furnish 2 Identification Marks and enter the DCI/SDC Registration Number coupled with the Name of the Dental Council and Type of Registration.
- Applicant will be then required to enter his/her Aadhar Card Number and click on ‘Save & Continue’ to proceed to next section.
- Next, applicants will be required to enter their Educational details.
- Next, applicants will be required to upload an image of their ‘Photo Id’ and ‘DCI/SDC Certificate’.
Step IV: Schedule the Exam
- Applicant will be required to select the Location where he desires to take the exam from the list of 41 cities. Candidate has select any one of the locations to schedule the exam.
- Applicants are then required to select a Testing Venue from the list of testing venues available in the Selected Location.
- Applicant will be then required to select a ‘Testing Date’ from the Testing Window between 30th November and 3rd December 2016.
- Applicant is also required to select the time of the exam from the sessions available.
Step V: Submit Online Payment
- For candidates belonging to General/OBC Category, application fees is Rs. 3750
- For SC/ST/PWD candidates, application fee is Rs. 2750.
- Candidates will be required to submit Application Fee through Credit/Debit cards or Net Banking.
- After successful registration, admit card will be sent on the registered E-mail address within 24 hours.
