Hello, please tell us something about yourself.

I am Dr. Rega K. I did my graduation from Tamil Nadu Government Dental College and Hospital, Chennai. I secured Rank 6 in AIIMS MDS.


What do you think is the correct approach to study for AIIMS MDS? Only MCQ's or Theory+MCQ's?

I recommend practicing MCQ books and refer standard textbooks only if you need to clarify your concepts and also got through books for picture based questions.


When should the preparation ideally be started?

As per my own view, one should start their preparation after giving the final year examination.

Which subjects did you focus on?

I focused more on Oral pathology and final year subjects.


Have you attempted AIIMS or NEET previously? If yes, what did you do different this year that lead to your success?

Yes, I have attempted previously.

This year, I managed a good rank because I practiced numerous MCQs.


How big is the role of practice and revision while preparing for AIIMS MDS and how much time should be dedicated for it?

While preparing for AIIMS MDS, one should give 10-12 hours every day to their study to get a desired result.


Did PrepLadder play a part in your success? If yes, how?

Yes,I attempted the model exams on PrepLadder’s website. This boosted up my confidence level a lot.


Did you use a time table/study plan to keep your preparation on track?

Yes, I used time table during my preparation. You will not be able to crack such type of competitive exams without managing a proper time table.


Were you a topper or a mediocre student during graduation?

No, I was not a topper.


List the most difficult and easiest subjects for you.

The easiest subject for me was orthodontics and the most difficult was prosthodontics.


One mistake that you believe everyone must avoid while preparing for AIIMS MDS.

You should be consistent in your preparation and try to focus on your study only.
