NEET MDS, a single window entrance examination for MDS courses, is around the corner and the registration process to apply for the same will begin from today.
NEET-MDS 2018 will be conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE) on January 7, 2018 across the country. Candidates aspiring for MDS courses are required to complete the registration process on or before November 27, 2017.

1.SCOPE OF NEET MDS 2018
NEET- MDS 2018 will be the single window, eligibility-cum-entrance examination for the academic session 2018 which will include the following seats:
- All India 50% seats for MDS Courses – All States with exception of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana
- State Quota Seats for MDS Courses - All States & UTs of India with inclusion of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Telangana
- MDS Courses – For admission to All Private Dental Colleges, Universities & Institutions across the nation
- Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions – For seats available to MDS courses
Note: AIIMS, New Delhi is not covered by centralized admissions through NEET-MDS for 2018 session for MDS seats.

5. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
As per MDS Course Regulations 2017 notified by DCI with prior approval of MoHFW, a candidate must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- Candidate must possess a degree of Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS) from a recognized university or institute in India and has completed compulsory rotatory internship of a year in an approved/recognized dental college
- Candidate must be registered with the State Dental Council and has obtained provisional or permanent registration
- Candidate, who has passed the final qualifying examination (BDS or the foreign dental degree recognized by GOI/DCI), is undergoing 12-month compulsory rotator internship/ practical training which is likely to complete by 31st March 2018 is eligible to apply; however, his/her admission will be eligible if he/she has completed the compulsory rotatory internship and obtained provisional or permanent registration on or before 31st March 2018. (Cutoff date for completion of internship to determine the candidate’s eligibility will be 31.03.2018)
- Candidates who have passed BDS from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for 50% All India Quota seats. However, the candidates nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to do BDS from Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana are eligible to apply for admission. (PG seats of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are likely to be included in 50% All India Quota Seats 2018 subject to confirmation by the respective State Governments to MoHFW, Govt. of India)
