Minimum cut off score
For AIIMS MDS, the minimum cut-off score which determines the eligibility of the candidate for admission to the MDS course is 50th percentile.
Tie-breaking criteria
The overall merit/ranking is determined on the basis of the percentile score that a candidate achieves in the examination.
Ties arise when two candidates score same Percentiles.
For breaking ties, the method adopted is:
- The candidate who has achieved higher aggregate marks in all the BDS Professional Examinations shall be placed higher than the candidates with lower aggregate marks in BDS Professional Examinations.
- If the ties still arises after step (1), then according to the age (Date of Birth), the candidate who is older shall be preferred in comparison to the younger candidate.

Reservations of MDS Seats
49.5% of total MDS seats (15% for SC, 7.5% ST and 27% for OBC), excluding Sponsored/Foreign National candidates, are reserved for the candidates belonging to the SC, ST and OBC (Non-creamy layer).
