Provisional Registration - Meaning
As per the official definition by the MCI, ‘Provisional Registration’ implies getting provisionally registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register for the objective of undergoing practical training in India as prescribed and for no other objective by an Indian citizen having possession of any primary medical qualification, however, has not undergone such practical training after acquiring that qualification.

Procedure for Obtaining Provisional Registration
Conditional Provisional Registration is issued by the Council to candidates in possession of recognized ‘Foreign Medical Qualification’ to undergo one year Internship Training subject to the condition that the candidates submits the requisite documents with a requisite fee of Rs. 1000/- through a bank draft in favor of the Secretary, Medical Council of India subject to the verification of the documents by the concerned authorities.
Documents Required for Getting Provisional Registration
- Copy of mark sheet of 10th Class or equivalent examination
- Copy of mark sheet of 12th Class (10+2) or equivalent examination
- Graduation degree with translation
- FMGE Pass Certificate
- Affidavit stating personal details and graduation details.
