Hi everyone, this is Dr. Madhurjya Nath from Tver State Medical University Russia.

I scored 161 in June 2017 FMGE.


According to you what is the correct approach to study for FMGE ? Only MCQ's or Theory + MCQ's ?

Both Theory and MCQ’s are the best approaches for the optimal performance in FMGE.


When should the preparation ideally be started ?

Ideally, preparation should be started well before time. Better preparation needs 6 months of time.

Have you attempted FMGE previously ? If no, what did you do different this year that lead to your success.

Yes, this was  my first attempt.


What's the role of practice and revision while preparing for FMGE and how much time should be dedicated for it ?

I have practiced not less than 10 hours in a day. Last 2 months should be completely dedicated for revision. Information can only be retained through revision. The more you revise, the better you memorize.


Did PrepLadder played a part in your success ? If yes, how ?

Yes, PrepLadder helped me a lot especially the MCQ’s and test series. Every day, I used to solve MCQ’s provided by Prepladder. Moreover, Prepladder’s blogs helped me to stay motivated throughout my preparation.


Did you follow a time table/study plan to keep your preparation on track ?

Yes, I followed a time table.


Were you a topper or an average student during graduation ?

I scored well in my University. I topped in certain subjects.


List the most difficult and easiest subjects for you.

Difficult - Anatomy and Pharmacology

Easiest - Anaesthesia, ENT, Biochem


One mistake that should be avoided while preparing for FMGE.

Rather than following multiple book sources one must stick to limited and standard quality content. This helps in memorizing and retaining the exam oriented topics.


Some tips for our readers preparing for FMGE ?

Study regularly and there is no short cut. Try to reduce your silly mistakes.
